February Is Ending....

Where has time gone? It has been a busy month in the Golden House. Rhealee was sick in the beginning of the month.

I went to Austin for a couple of days for a Technology Conference. That was an experience in its self. The crazy weather of Texas ended up leaving us stranded in Austin for the night. Luckily we weren't very stranded, by stranded I mean we had to stay another night at they Hyatt in Downtown Austin and eating at a fantastic restaurant, Trulocks. Some of the best seafood I have ever eaten. We were able to get home the next morning, we flew in and headed right to school for TAKS training!!! Yippie skippie!

That night Taryn and I went to the Rockin' Disney Show, just the two of us. Cory was at a basketball game and Rhealee went with Doakie and Grandma for the evening. We had a wonderful time and Taryn enjoyed every minute of the show. We will be going back!

We didn't do anything big for Valentine's Day. Cory and I went to Sundown and played a few holes of golf and then that evening we went to Lubbock to spend time with my Aunt Christina and her family. Her Grandmother passed away that day. Eloise was dear sweet women that we all loved like our own grandmother.

The girls have gone and stayed the weekend with Doakie and Gramps and of course they came back rotten. But that's what grandparents are for. Cory and I took the time to go and see the Blind Side. That was an amazing movie. Cory being a coach sees things like that everyday. In fact we are trying to help a couple of boys right now that don't have much in life. It is hard to see this everyday. Don't tell Cory I told you this, but he cried in the movie!!! After the movie we went to dinner with Ashlee and Gabe at Johnny Carino's. I LOVE Italian food!!! I alone at about 2 loaves of bread and could have eaten 2 more!!!

Last Sunday, Cory and I went to church with one of his co-workers. We knew we would be experiencing something different but it was very enjoyable. They attend a very charismatic church, lots of clapping and hand waving and moving in the aisles, we were the only light colored people in the small church. The preacher was wonderful and we were very welcomed. After church we went to eat at the Hudson's home and this was a wonderful time for laughing and great food! We look forward to visiting them again. They will be join us for church next weekend and eating lunch with us. I love great fellowship with good friends.

This week we hosted the freshman basketball team for dinner at our house. We charged the team a buck to eat and they ate well!!! I made chicken spaghetti, garlic bread, brownies and cream cheese cookie bars. They destroyed the chicken spaghetti, brownies and cookie bars!! They watched a movie after dinner and then a winter storm rolled in and most of them had to leave before it was over due to the icy roads. It was a good time.

Tuesday morning we woke up to about 4 inches of snow on the ground. We had a 2 hour delay and by noon most of the snow was gone :(.

This weekend has been busy. Saturday 2 of the 3 Gunnel's kids came to play for the morning. They had a blast and Taryn enjoyed having them around. Last night we had dinner guest. The Reid's who are a coaching family came and had pulled pork sandwiches with us. They have a daughter that Taryn just loves. So they played and laughed and had a good time.

Rhealee has been battling something this weekend. We slept in the chair Friday night and she slept most of the day on Saturday. She just coughs and coughs bless her little heart. We have debated taking her to the doctor and then she gets better. So we don't know what to do. She gets better then gets worse, so we are just back and forth on what to do for her.

I have a month full of pictures to upload, so be looking for those to come in a few days.

Rhealee will be 1 in just a little less then 2 weeks!! Where has this year gone?

She is off baby food, down to a couple bottles a day, walks everywhere and is working on words like: momma, daddy, mmmmm, and her favorite uh-oh!!! She has grown so much in the last couple of weeks and her hair is changing to a head full of curls.

Have a great week!
